You’re invited to a special presentation by Sean Decatur, President of the American Museum of Natural History, entitled Bringing the ‘Monster’ to Manhattan: The Amagansett Whale, Roy Chapman Andrews, and the American Museum of Natural History.
In 1907, the largest North Atlantic Right Whale ever recorded was hunted and “tried out” in Amagansett. Sean Decatur explains what happened next when Roy Chapman Andrews, one of the luminaries of the American Natural History Museum. appeared on the beach in Amagansett.
